Meek Mill Request For Bail Denied By Judge

JAY-Z penned an op-ed in the New York Times last month where he blast the justice system for its years of mass incarceration of young black men. He has been getting a lot of support from the general public and fellow celebrities including his rival Drake and The Game, as well as, other celebrities closer to him like JAY-Z and Rick Ross. Meek Mill, whose real name is Robert Williams, is currently serving 2-4 years in a state prison for probation violation. There has also been widespread condemnation for the judge who handed down the heavy-handed sentencing last month, but she is unmoved. His lead attorney, Joe Tacopina, says that the judge’s ruling “continues her long pattern of unfair treatment.” He also indicate the he will be appealing the judges decision not to grant his client bail. She also suggest that his urine test may have been tainted because he may have flushed his system with “Fast Flush.” His attorney is once again furious with the judges ruling and vows to continue to fight for the rapper’s freedom. Meek Mill remains in prison after his emergency bail request was denied by a judge. Last month, the Pennsylvania Superior Court rejected Meek Mill’s bail petition and ordered the presiding judge to make a formal ruling on his emergency bail request. Reverend Al Sharpton and Colin Kaepernick have also thrown their support behind the #FreeMeekMill movemnet. He argued that Meek Mill is just the latest victim of a system notorious for oppressing people of color. Last weekend, Hov played Meek’s single “Dreams & Nighmares” at his “4:44 Tour” stop in Philadelphia. The “Dreams & Nightmares” rapper got the bad news on Monday that his bail was denied by his probation judge Genece Brinkley, according to TMZ. Judge Brinkley argued in her legal docs that Meek Mill is a danger to the community and is a flight risk. He also spoke briefly about the Maybach Music Group rapper’s incarceration.

Lana Del Rey – Last Girl On Earth Lyrics

No such thing as heaven
And I’m the last girl on Earth
So baby, let’s get it on
[Verse 2]
Cleopatra used to rule
But she got nothing on me now
‘Cause I’m the last girl on earth
I turn the television on
They only play my favorite song
Since I’m the last girl on Earth
[Pre-Chorus 2]
Chariots of gold, I’m sitting, sipping cherry cola
Caesar said he’d fall in love with me if I was older
I own all of Mexico and I got my own roller-coaster
Sometimes I get lonely, millions can hold me now
[Chorus]
No one lives forever, but that’s no reason to give up
Don’t you wanna fall in love? No such thing as heaven
And I’m the last girl on Earth
So baby, let’s get it on
[Bridge]
I stay up late at night, try not to think about it
Pretend I’m happy, willing all the word without love
I get so tired being on display somehow
Sometimes I get lonely, but millions all know me now
[Chorus – Variation]
No one lives forever, but that’s no reason to give up
Don’t you wanna fall in love? There’s no such thing as heaven
And I’m the last girl on Earth
So baby, let’s get it on
No such thing as heaven
And I’m the last girl on Earth
So baby, let’s get it on I got roses in my hair, I belly dance, and do the tango
Sometimes I get lonely
Everybody told me no
[Chorus]
No one lives forever, but that’s no reason to give up
Don’t you wanna fall in love? [Verse 1]
Baby has a broken heart
She can’t belong to only one
Until another girl is found
I don’t pay for anything
My cigarettes or diamonds rings
My feet don’t even touch the ground
[Pre-Chorus 1]
Chariots of gold, I ride with Jay-Z, Jared Leto
I’m a superpower, now they call me the tornado.

Dua Lipa – On My Own Lyrics

I don’t count on no one else
I don’t need no help
Cause I’m doin’ it on my own

Charly Black Signs Multi-Album Record Deal With Universal Music

The full details of the deal are not yet known, but sources told us it’s a multi-million dollar deal comprising of five albums. “There’s been a great synergy working with Universal/Aftercluv so far, we’ve had some great successes and have broken a lot of barriers together already,” the dancehall star said. “We are extremely excited to have him as a member of the Aftercluv family,” Estrada said. The Trelawny dancehall deejay recently signed a multi-album record deal with Universal Music. “I’m happy about the deal and looking forward to partnering with them now on a bigger scale to make more great music and continue to represent dancehall and Jamaica on an international level.”
Charly Black manager, Julian Jones-Griffith, says the deal has no expiration date since its a multi-album deal so the deejay can take his time to put out his best music. Charly Black has been putting up some big numbers on Spotify with over a 100 million streams and even getting a taste of Billboard success. His single “Gyal You A Party Animal” has been certified diamond after selling over 10 million copies worldwide. He also has a new song out now after being tapped for Juan Magan’s “You’re Perfect (Remix).” The deejay says fans can expect big things from him next year. Charly Black continues to make strides in the mainstream music market. Black’s deal is through Aftercluv Dancelab, Universal Music Latin Entertainment which makes sense since he has had the most impact in the Latin American market over the past two years. “He’s a prolific singer-songwriter and the leader of the new generation of dancehall music, as well as a perfect reflection of what Universal/Aftercluv represents, global cultural dance music.”
Charly Black next album is slated for release sometime in 2018. Universal/Aftercluv managing director, Luis Estrada, expressed his excitement of having Black on board the label.

Vybz Kartel Preps Five New Singles Dropping In December

“Addi (Vybz Kartel) is the hardest working artist in dancehall so some other lazy artists shouldn’t complain when the boss a drop them week in week out.”
Vybz Kartel is currently serving a life sentence for murder and it’s illegal for him to be recording music in prison. Our Gazanation sources told us that is not the case since Vybz Kartel has been known to drop a lot of music in a short space of time. “It’s going to be a crazy December, we doing it for the fans as a Christmas gift,” sources told Dancehall HipHop. Vybz Kartel has been giving fans an average of two songs per week since around the end of August, while other artists like Mavado, Popcaan, and Alkaline have been releasing one or two songs per quarter. The incarcerated deejay has released over twenty new singles since the start of the fall and is closing out the year on a high note with at least five new tracks coming this month. “This is not too much music and if anything its the fans who are benefiting, they are the ones we are doing this for,” sources said. Kartel updated his Instagram bio over the weekend where he named five songs coming this month, one of which was released over the weekend, “Christmas Fck.” The other four tracks will title “Flintstone (Yabba Dabba Doo),” “Make-Up Sex,” “Marathon,” and “My Boo.”

Minister Grange also acknowledges artists like Alkaline, Popcaan, Aidonia, and Chronixx, who were all nominated in the category of Best Reggae Act. Minister of Culture, Gender Entertainment and Sport Olivia Grange, has issued a statement congratulating the reggae/dancehall deejay for the win. Both artists have released great albums this year, but again only one can win the Grammy. This is Damian Marley’s second MOBO Award. In her statement, she describes the artist as an outstanding member of the talented musical family, the Marleys. Damian Marley and Chronixx are also both nominated in the Best Reggae Album category at the upcoming 60th annual Grammy Awards. It really feels special to say back-to-back congratulations to him,” the minister said.
